Choose any drink: water, tea, coffee, juice, a cocktail, a non-alcoholic drink. Take the ritual somewhere reasonably quiet.
Minute 1 — Set the scene
Put the drink down. Notice its temperature against the room, its colour, and the way it holds light. Do not taste yet.
Minutes 2–3 — Smell twice
Take one short breath above the drink, then one slower breath. Name a familiar comparison without trying to be poetic.
Minutes 4–5 — Sip, then wait
Take a small sip. Put the glass down. Where does the flavour show up first? What happens as it leaves?
Minute 6 — Change one condition
Move nearer a window, add a little water, take a smaller sip, or wait a moment. What becomes clearer?
Minute 7 — Write one line
Complete this sentence: “This drink becomes more interesting when…” Save it. That is enough.
